9th ANNUAL BROADWAY UNPLUGGED |
| Date |
(Mon) Dec 3, 2012 at 8:00 PM |
| Description |
Cheyenne Jackson headlines all-star cast of the 9th Annual Broadway Unplugged. In what has become a Fall concert tradition in New York, some of the biggest and brightest Broadway stars of today, show that they've got the same vocal chops as the stars of yesteryear when they blow the roof off of the 1,500 seat Town Hall without using microphones. Singing Broadway show tunes the way they used to be sung -- without any electronic amplification ("Unplugged") -- the audience hears the pure human voice the way one never hears it anymore in a Broadway theatre.

Emmy Award Winner GREGG MARX sings “Music & Lyrics by COLE PORTER”
The Metropolitan Room, May 21 and 22
The former soap opera star celebrates the (barely) six degrees separating his famous Marx Brothers relatives, Salvador Dali and cool Mr. Cole Porter. May 21 at 9:30, May 22 at 7pm. The Metropolitan Room is at 34 West 22nd Street, NYC. Phone: 212.206.0440 for reservations. Cover charge $20 plus 2-drink minimum. New York – April 23 – Gregg Marx, a popular L.A. based crooner, Emmy Winner, voice-over artist and former soap star will make his first New York City cabaret appearance since 2005 on May 21 and 22 at The Metropolitan Room. His Cole Porter show, Music & Lyrics by COLE PORTER, brings with it a uniquely personal edge. A little known piece of show business history connects Gregg Marx, the famous Marx Brothers, Salvador Dali and Cole Porter; and it’s a lot closer than the popular parlor game of six degrees of separation.

Whitney Houston,
You brought joy to so many. I am in shock about your passing. I never met you but I did meet you mom at the Essence awards many years ago. You were a true superstar and your music will live forever. YOU WERE TOO YOUNG. I will never forget you. We lost a legend.
Your fan for life.
