FOOD NETWORK'S FIRST FOOD STANDS Food Network and Legends Hospitality have entered into a multi-year partnership agreement to launch the network’s first Food Network food stands at Yankee Stadium on Opening Day, April 16, 2009.
The Food Network stands will be located within the Delta Sky 360 Suite and in the Jim Beam Terrace Lounge, both premium areas located behind home plate, and will serve quality takes on classics like burgers, hot dogs, and fries, as well as dishes, such as Puerto Rican-style pork sandwiches, Chinese cold noodles, and soft tacos, incorporating the ethnic cuisines of New York City, Food Network's hometown.
"Sports is a genre in which we’ve always felt the network should have a presence, as such we are thrilled to partner with Legends Hospitality at Yankee Stadium to create a completely unique way to experience the network. Fans will literally be able to touch, feel, smell and taste Food Network in a way they never have before," said Sergei Kuharsky, General Manager, Scripps Networks Enterprises (a division of Scripps Networks Interactive, parent company of Food Network).
"As a New York City-based company with an international audience, the Food Network is the perfect partner for the New York Yankees," said Marty Greenspun of Legends Hospitality. "Yankee Stadium promises to be a complete experience for our fans – not only the best in baseball, but the best in food with fresher and more diverse concessions and a selection of fine dining options. We are thrilled that the Food Network has chosen Yankee Stadium to make their food stand debut."
The partnership includes reciprocal marketing between the partners to promote the stands including pregame announcements and placements in Yankee sponsorship and promotional material about the stands, cooking demonstrations and appearances at the Stadium by Food Network talent and possible integration of the stands in network programs.
The New York Yankees recently announced their new general concessions lineup for the 2009 season, with a focus on quality, convenience, variety and value. With a ‘Fresh-To-Order’ system providing fans with the freshest and hottest possible food and a wide variety of foods at all prices, Yankee Stadium promises to become both a sporting and culinary destination.
The Yankees will continue their policy of donating leftover edible food to those in need, this year working with the Rock and Wrap It Up program and The Food Bank for New York City, which work together in picking up food from the Stadium and delivering it to shelters, soup kitchens, senior centers, youth programs and other emergency and community food programs throughout the Bronx.

Advertising could be at all bus and subway signs. Also on top of all Access a ride cars and vans and inside. I think this is a good idea but it is just my idea: In order to save the MTA the MTA should see if they can hire a few people to sell advertising to make up the dollars they are missing on the subway, buses, access a ride cars and vans. Maybe Taxi cab TV wants to expand the sales on all mass transit. Get corporate sponsors to buy outdoor and on top advertising to make up the difference instead of charging passengers.
In fact, maybe BLOOMBERG media would want to sell this advertising and hire me to head it. Millions could be sold to save the MTA and prove that the Mayor should serve another term. These sales could also create more NYC jobs.
This morning I woke up to a phone call from my Mother who heard on NY1 that you want to move the Thanksgiving Parade to the East Side to help traffic? Are you kidding?
The Thanksgiving Parade is a WEST SIDE TRADITION. Moving it to the East Side is a terrible idea. Where will they blow up the balloons? 5TH avenue? I don't think it is a good idea. The parade ends up in front of Macy's so what are you going to do.
Keep traditions alive. Don't change where the parade is. It is a NY TRADITION and who cares about traffic. I live on the UWS and it has always been a tradition to go see the balloons being blown up before the parade on 77th-79th. I have done this since I was a little girl and can't imagine why you would change this.
Somethings are sacred traditions that need to be left alone.

I made the best dish tonight and I wanted to share the scrumptious recipe.
Corine's Orange Chicken over veggies and pasta.
1 boneless skinless chicken breast Frozen Broccoli and cauliflower (Half a cup) Orange juice (half a cup) 1 teaspoon light soy sauce
Marinate a chicken breast the size of the palm of your hand for one hour in the following mixture
Half a cup of orange juice (Orange juice from Jacks 99 stores) 1 teaspoon light soy sauce (From Jacks 99 stores) fresh ginger finely chopped (From chinatown) 1/2 teaspoon of chopped garlic (From chinatown)
In a bowl mix the orange juice, the soy sauce, the chopped ginger and garlic in a bowl. Dip the chicken breast in the mixture and put on both sides and marinate for 1 hour.
After an hour put the chicken breast and mixture into a wok without any oil and add a cup of water to the mixture. Cook on low heat for 15 minutes until the chicken is totally cooked.
Now, add some frozen broccoli and cauliflower to the mixture and cook until the chicken and veggies are totally cooked. Add a teaspoon of light brown sugar and a tiny bit of garlic powder to the wok. Chop the chicken into bite size pieces and put on top of thin angel hair pasta.
I used the boneless frozen chicken breast from Trader Joe's. This dish was delish and everything was steamed without any oil or butter and it was not fried.
Most of the ingredients were purchased at Jacks 99 stores for $1.29 or less except for the chicken which was a large bag of frozen organic chicken breasts for under 8 dollars.
This dish per serving was around $3.00 to make. Cheaper and healthier than the Orange chicken I would get at a chinese takeout place and there was no oil and fat. The quality of the chicken was far better than any chinese takeout place.
I just came back from the Legends benefit at Town Hall. I must admit, I live for farce and Charles Busch and Bryan Batt never disappoint me. They were all hilarious. I was especially taken by Bryan Batt's Carol Channing impersonation after eating a plate full of pot filled brownies. It was also amusing seeing Donna Karger and Roma Torre pretend to have a cat fight.
Amusing stuff!
Bryan's Carol Channing rocked my socks off. He is so talented and I miss seeing him in my favorite show FORBIDDEN BROADWAY.
If you were lucky to catch this benefit you would have been entertained.
I can never have enough laughs and this cast made me cry from laughing so hard.
That has not happened in a very long time because of bone density issues so I thank them for cheering me up.

Friday, April 3 GLEN TILBROOK AND THE FLUFFERS - THE SPRING STANDARDS
Doors at 7:00pm, Show at 8:00pm $25 Glenn Tilbrook. A man cast from the same sacred mould as other classic British songwriters such as Ray Davies, Elvis Costello...delivers a blistering, irrefutable, unrestrained, totally unpretentious hour of joie de vivre to an ecstatic audience. The man's called Glenn Tilbrook. His band is called The Fluffers and they ROCK. Tight as f**k and lovin' it. Unburdened by the über-cool inflicted on and dished out by so many fly-by-night 'stars' Tilbrook and his band's passion and enthusiasm is contagious. In fact it's outrageous.
Squeeze is my favorite band of all time and I can't wait to see this show. I can't wait to hear Glenn's new music but I really hope he plays some of his SQUEEZE tunes as well.

Broadway Musicals of 1931 will be directed by Tony Award nominee Brad Oscar (The Producers) and choreographed by Jeffry Denman (White Christmas). The two will also star in the show alongside Tony Yazbeck (Gypsy), David Pittu (Is He Dead, LoveMusik, What’s That Smell), Chip Zien (Into the Woods), Kendrick Jones (Stairway to Heaven), Melinda Sullivan (High School Musical), special guest star and Tony Award nominee Karen Akers (Nine/Grand Hotel) and more to be announced. There will also be at least one surprise special guest star!
This edition of the critically acclaimed series will include such famous shows as The Gang’s All Here, The Band Wagon, The Cat and the Fiddle, Of Thee I Sing and more.
About this Broadway by the Year concert, Scott Siegel says, “There is particular resonance between 1931 and today because, just like Broadway audiences seventy-eight years ago, we find ourselves in the grip of a Great Depression. The music, written by the likes of the Gershwins, Harold Arlen, and Rodgers & Hart, was a brilliant reflection of their time and a reminder to us today of how buoyant and resilient we have always been as a people. Our character, as a nation, was on display in that momentous year, and that’s why you’ll find great humor, and even greater humanity, in the Broadway Musicals of 1931.”
Built in 1921 by a group of suffragettes, The Town Hall began as a lecture hall and public forum for debates. Over the decades, Eleanor Roosevelt, Margaret Sanger, Billie Holiday, Igor Stravinsky, Bob Dylan and Miles Davis have graced the stage. Today the hall flourishes as a popular, affordable venue, boasting the hottest acts in rock, pop, folk, cabaret, world music, comedy and dance, including Billy Joel, Blondie, Elvis Costello, Natalie Merchant, Graham Nash, Liza Minnelli, Cyndi Lauper, Norah Jones, Andre Watts, Henry Rollins, Joe Jackson, Pink Martini, Regina Spector, Brian Adams, Aimee Mann and Dawn Upshaw. For over a decade, The Town Hall has hosted live broadcasts of Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion. Over the past two-and-a-half decades, The Town Hall has produced a number of new and critically acclaimed musical series, which include The Century of Change, Not Just Jazz, Broadway by the Year® and The Broadway Cabaret Festival.
Scott Siegel has created three acclaimed and popular series for The Town Hall: Broadway By the Year, now in its ninth season, the Broadway Cabaret Festival, and the Broadway Summer Festival. Mr. Siegel also conceived and produces both Broadway Unplugged and The Nightlife Awards at The Town Hall. Scott and his wife Barbara are authors (47 books, including The Encyclopedia of Hollywood) and critics ("The Siegel Column" and "The Two of Clubs" on Talkin’ Broadway).
Tickets are $50 & $45 and are on sale now through TicketMaster, 212-307-4100, www.ticketmaster.com, The Town Hall Box Office between noon and 6 PM (except Sundays) at 123 West 43rd Street, 212-840-2824. For more information: www.the-townhall-nyc.org.

Scott Siegel produces incredible events at Birdland and Town Hall and you should check out Broadway Jukebox as it is a fantastic evening out with the best singers you can find! I thank Scott for letting me videotape his fantastic concerts.
Tonight, I saw Lynda Carter, at JALC and she was incredible. The performer has electric chemistry and a very sultry and seductive voice. It was a concert that got not one but two standing ovations.
Carter sang a very interesting mix of songs. Rock, Jazz, Motown, Country and even a Beatles song. She has a gorgeous voice and still kept her youthful looks. Must be her super powers. Wonder Woman has not aged and proved she still has talent.
Corine and her Sister. We thought we were sooo cool!

Time flies. A friend sent me these photos from my High School yearbook. It is so funny. Eyebrows were thick back in the day. Anyway, time really flies when you are living your life. This photo really reminds me of Lea Michelle.
Hi Guys, I just made a wonderful meal and I wanted to share the recipe. I made chinese steamed veggies with shrimp with ginger and garlic in sesame sauce.
I bought: Snow peas, scallions, water chestnuts, red onion, fresh garlic, fresh ginger and frozen shrimp.
I cut a red onion in half. I used a quarter of an onion in a wok. I then added snow peas, water chestnuts, chopped carrots, 1 scallion stalk chopped fine. (Half a cup of water chestnuts, 1 stalk of broccoli. I then added a tablespoon of olive oil and half a clove of garlic, shredded ginger.
I then added a cup of frozen organic small shrimp and steamed it with the veggies. Cook for 12 minutes. Then add sauce.
1. Three tablespoons of light soy sauce. 2. Two teaspoons of light brown sugar Mix the sauce with three teaspoons of orange juice and pour over the shrimp and veggies. Simmer for 10 minutes.
It was excellent. I call the dish Orange, ginger shrimp with mixed veggies. It goes well over brown rice but I ate it as is. It was very good.

New York – A special promotional video has been released for the upcoming One Night Only staged reading benefit of the infamous Broadway-play-that-wasn’t, LEGENDS!. Charles Busch, Whoopi Goldberg and Lypsinka will star in the first-ever New York presentation of the play by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner James Kirkwood (A Chorus Line), which will be presented on Monday evening, March 23 at 8PM at Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street). Directed by Mark Waldrop, the presentation will feature a script that has been adapted for this reading by John Epperson. Also starring Bryan Batt (“Mad Men”) with narration by humorist Fran Lebowitz and additional casting to be announced, the special event is a benefit for Friends In Deed - The Crisis Center for Life-Threatening Illness™.
Filmed and edited by Eric Marciano with Meredith Marciano, the 2:30-minute promo video features a backstage peek at Charles Busch and Lypsinka – both deliciously scheming in their respective LEGENDS! characters – as they ready themselves for a glam photo shoot. (Done in homage to the Blackglama ad campaign of yesteryear, the photos from the shoot by celebrity photographer Timothy White are being used as the official artwork for the event.) Discerning viewers may also notice a cameo by director Mark Waldrop. The video can be viewed on YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJPLgA2aZhY.
A hilarious comedy about two glamorous, Hollywood has-beens and arch-rivals forced to consider working together on a new project to resuscitate their careers, LEGENDS! is one of the most notorious theatrical properties ever written – notably for what happened behind-the-scenes. Originally presented in a 1986 year-long, pre-Broadway tour starring Carol Channing and Mary Martin, it closed on the road before making it to New York. The juicy on and off-stage antics were chronicled and immortalized in playwright James Kirkwood’s own non-fiction account, Diary of a Mad Playwright: Perilous Adventures on the Road with Mary Martin and Carol Channing. In 2007, the play was again presented as a pre-Broadway national tour, this time helmed by “Dynasty” co-stars Joan Collins and Linda Evans. Also failing to make it to New York, the production had its backstage wars chronicled in lurid detail by Ms. Collins in a two-part series in London’s Daily Mail.
Tony-nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning actor, writer, director and drag legend Charles Busch (star of the film adaptation of his play Die Mommie Die and author of Broadway’s The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife) will take on the role of former film fatale, Sylvia Glenn.
Award-winning actor, writer, fashionista and lip-synching pioneer who defies categorization Lypsinka (I Could Go On Lip-Synching!, The Passion of the Crawford, his recent Medea-based play My Deah) will sink her claws into the part of the seemingly-saintly Leatrice Monsee.
Rounding out the trio is Oscar, Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning icon Whoopi Goldberg (star of Ghost, producer of Thoroughly Modern Millie, host of AMC’s “Beyond Tara: The Extraordinary Life of Hattie McDaniel” and the album Whoopi Goldberg; plus current moderator of ABC’s “The View”), who will essay the role of the quick-witted servant Aretha.
“Mad Men” series regular Bryan Batt (as closeted art director Salvatore Romano) will play Martin Klemmer, the producer scheming to get the two film stars to work together. No stranger to the stage, he’s been featured in nearly a dozen Broadway shows (La Cage aux Folles, Sunset Boulevard, Beauty & the Beast) and created the role of Darius in the stage and film versions of Jeffrey.
Famed humorist Fran Lebowitz wil serve as the evening’s narrator. She first made her mark in the magazine world in the 1970s at Andy Warhol’s Interview and has long been associated with irreverent humor and urban wit. Her published works include the New York Times bestsellers Metropolitan Life and Social Studies, later combined as The Fran Lebowitz Reader.
LEGENDS! is being directed by Mark Waldrop, whose credits include Bea Arthur on Broadway and the Drama Desk Award-winning Off-Broadway revue When Pigs Fly, for which he also provided book and lyrics. As a lyricist, he is the recipient of the prestigious Edward Kleban Award.
Set Designer is three-time Emmy Award winner Ray Klausen, Costume Designer is Fabio Toblini and Lighting & Sound Designer and Production Manager is Matt Berman. Choreography is by Josh Rhodes. Costumes will be made by Eric Winterling, Inc., Euroco Costumes, Inc., Studio Rouge and Tricorne, Inc. Hairstyles are by Katherine Carr and Gerard Kelly.
Additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks, and the evening will also feature some onstage surprises.
Tickets ($100, $75 and $60) are currently available through TicketMaster at www.ticketmaster.com or (212) 307-4100. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Town Hall box office (123 West 43rd Street), Monday through Saturday, 12 Noon-6PM.

IN HONOR OF PULITZER PRIZE-WINNING PLAYWRIGHT HORTON FOOTE
(New York, NY) March 5, 2009 -- The Broadway League mourns the loss of Horton Foote, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright most recently represented on Broadway this season with Dividing the Estate. He passed away yesterday at age 92 at his home in Connecticut.
Broadway marquees will be dimmed on Thursday, February 5th for one minute at exactly 8:00pm in tribute to Mr. Foote.
“Horton Foote was a prolific contributor to Broadway and we are deeply saddened by the loss of this great artist,” said Charlotte St. Martin, Executive Director of The Broadway League. “As a fellow native Texan, I especially enjoyed his plays that reflected the stories of his past. Our thoughts are with his family.”
Mr. Foote's Broadway plays include Only the Heart, Six O'Clock Theatre, The Chase, Two's Company, The Trip to Bountiful, The Traveling Lady, The Young Man From Atlanta and Dividing the Estate. Mr. Foote won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for The Young Man from Atlanta in 1995, for which he also received a Tony Award nomination. In 2006 he received a Drama Desk Award for Career Achievement. Mr. Foote also won two Academy Awards for his screenplays "Tender Mercies" in 1983 and "To Kill a Mockingbird" in 1962. He received an Oscar nomination for the screenplay "The Trip to Bountiful" in 1985.
I finally went back to GENTE (A CORINE'S CORNER PICK!) My favorite is the VITELLO TONATO (Veal in tuna sauce) I did not eat it as I was afraid of getting Mercury poisioning or Jerry Piven disease. (Just kidding, I adore Piven but comedy is not one of my strong points.) Tonight I tried some new things. The salmon carpaccio (Lox and greens on a plate, delish!) The chicken caccitore really yummy and we also tried the seabass which my Aunt loved.
